Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions of translated poetry, short fiction, and literary nonfiction.

We are currently accepting submissions for NTM 2025 now through August 31.

What we're looking for:

• Translations into English

• Original work with translator or rights-holder permission

• Short forms (poetry, flash fiction, short essays)

• High literary quality

How to submit:

• Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis.

• Please allow 4–6 weeks for a response.

• If your work is accepted, we will contact you with an approximate publication date.

Submission Format:

• Attach your submission as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF file.

• Include a cover page with your name, email address, and phone number.

• Email subject line: "NTM Submission"

• Send to: nationaltranslationmonth@gmail.com

Your submission must include:

• The original work and its English translation

• A statement granting NTM permission to publish both the original and the translation online, and affirming that you have obtained the necessary rights

• Biographical notes (third person) for both the author and translator(s)

Optional—but encouraged:

• A short translator’s note (under 300 words) providing context or reflecting on the challenges and choices of the translation

We cannot offer payment at this time, but we are committed to promoting all contributors with full attribution and wide visibility across our platforms.
